What is the Ablative Fractional CO2 Laser?
Beyond surgical use, the CO2 laser in ablative fractional mode is one of the most effective aesthetic treatments for intensive skin rejuvenation (resurfacing). This technology operates at a wavelength of 10,600 nm and creates controlled thermal micro-columns in the skin, stimulating a powerful regenerative process with the production of new collagen and elastin.
The ablative CO2 laser works in two modes:
Light Mode (Soft Resurfacing)
- Indicated for superficial wrinkles, enlarged pores, irregular texture, and sunspots
- Quick recovery times (4–5 days)
- Improves skin radiance and tone without altering the skin’s structure.
Deep Resurfacing Mode
- Indicated for deep wrinkles, acne scars, significant photodamage, and visible laxity
- Results similar to a non-surgical facelift with 7–10 days of downtime
- Global rejuvenation and visible skin smoothing.

Treatment and Recovery
- Duration: Approximately 45-60 minutes.
- Comfort: A powerful anesthetic cream is applied 30–40 minutes beforehand. During the treatment, a jet of cold air is used to reduce heat.
- Recovery (Downtime): Requires some social downtime. After the session, the skin will be red and swollen for 2–3 days, then small scabs will form and fall off in 5–7 days, revealing new, pink skin.
